Olomomo Nut Co roasts up some wicked good nuts in Colorado. Olomomo has taken artisan, kettle-roasted nuts to a new level. Since 2008, Olomomo has sold over 10,000 bags of delicious, orginal, exotically-spiced almonds and pecans at farmers markets in Colorado. Olomomo nuts are in high-demand by coffee shops and consumers around the country, but they're still roasted in small batches with love using only natural ingredients.

Our Story

OlomomoTM Nut Company (pronounced "o-lo-mo-mo") aspires to bring innovation to the nut industry with the most delicious and unusual flavored nuts in the world. Our roasted nut products are designed as a protein-rich snack that tastes great with coffee, tea, and sophisticated beverages - offering a tasty alternative to carb-lard-laden coffee shop pastries.

Nuts for Good. As part of our vision for a healthy and sustainable product, we aim to use organic ingredients and bio-degradable packaging when possible. In fact, all of our packaging is now compostable.

Down the road, we also plan to donate to help micro-enterprise projects in developing areas of the world, starting with 5% of our holiday sales that went towards Prevent Human Trafficking - a nonprofit helping street kids in Thailand last year. In 2009, all proceeds from our T-shirt and Schwag sales will go to citizeneffect.org - a startup nonprofit helping build infrastructure projects in impoverished region of the world.

About the Founder My names is Justin Perkins. I moved back to my hometown of Boulder, Colorado from Washington, DC, to get back to my roots selling organic products at the farmers markets. I started "Spice" in May of 2008 in the backyard with a pink, gas-operated nut roasting machine from Germany. We changed the name to Olomomo Nut Company in Spring of 2009. Olomomo means "a state of bliss."

I was inspired by a recipe for hot chocolate with chile at the time and decided to throw in a little cayenne pepper with a batch of cinnamon almonds. Voila. My family and friends loved it, and my first recipe was born - the Zippy Zen Almonds. They're amazing with a good cup of coffee or on chocolate ice cream. I use them as a powersnack before or after long runs, too.

One year, many late nights, and many long weekends later, we have developed several flavors and have sold thousands of bags of nuts at farmers markets and festivals in Longmont, Boulder and Denver.

This fall, we are planning to help solve the "protein problem" in coffee shops and specialty retail stores. If you're interested in wholesale opportunities in the Boulder-Denver area, or would like to see Olomomo Nuts at a coffee shop near you, please contact me.
